Suiting Up

Today’s collection is inspired by the continual state of living that I seem to find myself in…suitcase living. Ugh! And Monday I’m off to it again, this time adventuring in the city of Minneapolis, MN. I will be touring with the Shelter Repertory Dance Theatre (a modern dance company that I have been a member...

Color Episode

Referencing today’s earlier post (again): Colors more along these lines…cool, refreshing, clean yet comfortable. Everything a Tennessean transplanted to Texas in the middle of summer could want.

Summer Palette…Ocean Spray & Avocado

Now, I know I’ve been talking up the neutral palette recently, but a girl can’t live on beige alone. And it’s times like these, usually around the deep heat of summer, that I begin really craving cool colors. Palettes such as this one below become especially  appealing.

Why Don’t You…

In the famous words of the late and eternally great Diana Vreeland, “Why Don’t You”…Bring your artwork to life…literally!! How whimsical and charming would this idea be paired with pieces similar to the ones featured earlier today? If you try it, let me know how it goes.

Patchwork Perfection

I’ve become quiet the master at the craft of “patchworking”. This lamp from Goodwill, that table from my parents’ home, those pillows from the local Target. It takes some vision that’s for sure! These funky pieces have taken the concept literally…and it couldn’t be better.

Person to Place: Episode 2

PERSON TO PLACE EPISODE # 2: First the PERSON, the lovely “Little Miss Havisham” styled by Beth Jones and photographed by Laurel Dailey. The perfect mix of soft, moody, pink and pretty. And then the PLACE, which translates oh so beautifully! Muted walls, afternoon lighting, upholstered surfaces and delicately crafted linens. Just the right recipe...

Shifting Shades

Curious things are happening these days…and I couldn’t tell you just when it started or why. But in the process of our move and during my search for apartment inspiration, I have discovered an interest in a totally new aesthetic…for me and my perception of my personal style, that is. Neutrals!! Yes, cremes and whites…browns...

New Environments…Blank Canvas

Ok, so it’s been a while…seems like ages. But David and I have safely arrived in our new home of Fort Worth, TX and, after a long week of crisis management, we are slowly settling into our new environment. Of course, as you can imagine, I already have grand schemes and plans for our humble hacienda...

A Day to Celebrate!

Well, for those who have been following me on Twitter and/or Facebook, you know that the past few days of our move to Fort Worth have been, to put it in less dramatic terms, a challenge. But some of the worst seems to be passing behind us. Thank goodness! And just in time for my...

HOPE…Moving Forward

Hope “To arrive, contemplate, enjoy, learn, copy, try, devastate, destroy. There’s still hope.” Considering the scenery change my husband and I are experiencing and the lifestyle adjustment we are both making, this collection of photographs seemed appropriate. Alright…here we go!

Going, going…Gone!

And we’re off. The bags are packed, the truck is loaded and we have hit the long road West to Fort Worth, Texas. Wish us luck! Back to regular programming soon.

In the midst of Chaos

David and I are in the throes of our move and greatly deprived of time, energy, and sleep. So today’s offering is brief and to the point. Flowers make me happy! Simple as that. Hope you enjoy your day and stay tuned as I adventure along this foreign and untrodden path called becoming an adult...
