Exciting news (in my world)! We unpacked the last box and hung the last picture (almost) in our new place on Saturday and I took the time (*read-got distracted from packing) to take a few pics of the place. I was feeling very inspired by The Selby and now I’m feeling brave and want to share with you all. But please remember…this is a starting point. The pieces are in place and the plan is in mind but all is a matter of time. As my design (the one that’s in my mind) unfolds, I will be more than thrilled to share the evidence. Until then, here’s the abode we now call home.
For all you long time readers, my dream has come true…finally, I have my very own Ikea Saarinen Tulip Table. And I couldn’t be happier about it either.
For those of you who don’t know my husband, David, this is his gorgeous marimba that I have the pleasure of hearing him play daily. Isn’t it a stunning piece of work? And it’s an equally beautiful sounding instrument, as well.
This is the view from our floor…yes, we are very fortunate.
And my very own office…under a skylight!! Eeee!
What can I say, we just love our new home together!
Thanks for stopping by. I have lots of fun DIY projects in store to share from this adventure, so stick around and see you soon!

Thank you so much, Cassie. I wish you could see it in person, too!! But I hear traveling with munchkins is kind of difficult.
You’re welcome anytime, though.

Lovely! Now you should approach the company that owns the lofts and ask if they will give you a break on rent if you provide them some pictures that they can use for advertising! Should be worth one month’s rent don’t you think? Looking forward to seeing it at the end of the month.
Happy for both of you.

Hil. Um…this is amazing. I wish I new some word that really said how impressed I am. But the only thing that comes to mind is: WOW. And that is certainly not enough. But, WOW. Job well done. I can’t wait to see what you do with White House when the first lady asks for your help… won’t be long.

Em! You’re too kind. I wish so much that you could be here in person to join me for an afternoon tea or coffee on our patio. Hope it won’t be long before we can share that experience!

I have looked at this post several times, and can’t wait to see everything when we come to visit, yet I thought the light bulb in the gold bowl was very interesting. I think I should do something like that……seems like we are always looking for a light bulb!

I was wondering when someone was going to notice that! I have to give credit to David for that idea. Clever use of an old (but perfectly nice) item that we no longer use. It makes for a fun conversation piece and I love it!
