Spiral staircases…how do you work with them? I was recently asking myself this question since I am currently living with one. (You can see the pics of our new place here). As many apartment dwellers know, one of the best places to find apartment inspiration and unique problem solving is the amazing Apartment Therapy. So, I trotted on over and browsed to my heart’s content until I realized that I had more than a post’s worth of inspiring photos. Here are the remains of my spiral staircase scavenger hunt.

By the way, if you are living in an apartment or rental now, you really have to check this website out. It’s archives run deep so I warn against allowing yourself too much time to browse (hence today’s post). But if you have the time, it is an awesome resource for tried ideas at a moderate budget and within a reasonable time frame. Folks from all over post photos of their homes and projects. Professionally produced projects are also occasionally featured and you can find discussion forums targeting specific apartment living questions. I recommend that you take a look!
*Also, I want to send out the warmest wishes and biggest hugs to my mom and dad who are celebrating their 26th wedding anniversary today. Congratulations! I love you both so much and can’t wait to see you soon! (The picture below is for my mom because I know she’s reading this and loves pretty flowers…especially dark, ruby peonies).

I heard from your mom and she was just so pleased to read your post today. She spiraled down your post amazed at the uniques pictures of staircases, imagining how one could make a grand entrance slowly and gently…..then to find the lovely vase of flowers awaiting here at the end. She loves her Hilary so much! Such a beautiful heart and soul!
