In a quiet corner, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of residents moving in and out, is the most gorgeous entry area original to our apartment building’s catholic chapel. With it’s hushed blues, greens and golds, this unexpected side hall offers a moment of calm in our mostly crazy lives. Each day I have the privilege of walking by this room and every time I pass, these words come to mind: beautifully serene!
I love that at most anytime during the day you can find a private nook to retreat into. On just such a quiet morning, I found the opportunity to take some photographs.
And the room supplied me with the perfect little perch to shoot from.
Now my question is, why don’t we beautify our spaces like this anymore? I know…cost, time, skill, etc. But maybe it could be a fun DIY project? I could see this detail around someone’s dining room light fixture. Where do you see this motif repeated?

Beautiful space. I did not realize that the building you live in was church related.

Yeah, I think I may have mentioned that it was an old convent built in the early 1900s.

Wow. I love tht ceiling! If you wanted to paint that in my bedroom, I might be okay with that.
