…Or was. Alas it’s warmed up a bit since we took these photos. But for several days there, we had cool weather here in Texas. In fact, cool enough that we even turned on the heat… in late October… imagine that! Even though we’ve relapsed slightly, I feel certain that change is in the air and my first order of business will be to unpack all my sweaters.

My sartorial feelings at the moment involve deep, chocolate-y dark hues and cool, porcelain whites all dulled slightly by the age of Autumn much like the coloring from the birch tree in front of our house. It didn’t necessarily inspire this outfit but it certainly seemed appropriate upon later reflection.

I found this lovely pleated skirt with equestrian style bits and harnesses at a local thrift store and thought the pattern was so charming! I can’t wait to bundle it up with thick, wooly tights and sturdy boots. Pleated circle skirts are some of my favorite things and this one’s possibilities seem endless!
