Finally, FINALLY the weather here is catching cold. It has been in the 70s and 80s for the longest time, which isn’t necessarily bad… but it is November. Something about short sleeves in November just feels weird. Now that there is a significant chill in the air, it’s time to begin layering again. In Texas, it’s all about layering because you never know how the weather is going to change throughout the day.
Today’s outfit is an example of a technique I try often – the button-up shirt under dress technique.
I love my summer dresses and prefer not to cover them up with bulky jackets and sweaters, so many times I will wear a blouse underneath instead. It allows the silhouette of the dress to be undisturbed but maintains covering on my shoulders and arms.
I also tried a look that has been gaining lots of attention again – the full button neckline. I thought, with the weather as cold as it’s gotten and my tolerance for chills as low as it is, it might be a trend worth trying.
I couldn’t help but layer my jewelry as well and my recent InVintage procurements ended up being the perfect old-fashioned touch to my lady-like look.
Outfit Details: Blouse – Thrifted, Dress – Thrifted, Belt – Emersonmade, Shoes – Target, Jewelry – InVintage

This layering does not work. Need either a very form-fitting shirt or no shirt at all.

I can see how a more form-fitting shirt would look good. Thanks for your comment Lena!
