Autumn has fully arrived and I couldn’t be happier. I’ve started carrying my camera with me almost every where for the chance that I might come across a brilliantly colored tree to photograph. I love this time of the year for it’s color, so it seemed fitting to include a scattering of golden leaves in today’s “Color Study”. In company with them is the deeply textured bark of a tree, which, besides it’s incredible texture, was a beautiful shade of earthy gray. Another popular element recently has been the appearance of furs. I’ve seen so many ladies donning faux fur vests, which are the perfect compromise for this climate… glamourous and chic, wintery warm, but not too much of either. Although I don’t have one of these vests in my own wardrobe, I do have the most luxuriously soft faux mongolian fur throw pillow from West Elm. It rests on my sofa and is wonderful to snuggle with! I thought the subtle ivory was a sophisticated compliment to the gold and gray.
What colors and textures have been popping up in your world lately?

Golds…I’m sort of getting into them for this season. I want to have a dinner party just so I can decorate with a little more sophistication!

I’ve really surprised myself and started liking gold this season, as well. I really like gold/brass and black together. I’ve been seeing the color combo in many light fixtures and interiors.
PS~Really enjoying your color study series.

Gorgeous photos!Someone said it earlier, but I’ve been into gold more lately too and it’s such a surprise. I’ve added tons of mercury glass this year. And I think I need more…hmmm.

Maybe it’s the cooler weather that’s making us all want to warm things up a bit. Either way, the Autumn leaves are totally inspiring!
