Here are a few brief thoughts for the weekend.
I created my first inspiration board for 2012 this week. So far, it’s been wonderful!! I look up at it and am refreshed with a wall of new ideas and thoughts. Each new thought leads to a new plan, which in turn leads to a new project, which then inevitably only adds to my ever-growing to-do list. And oh, my to-do list! It is an ongoing game of tug-of-war between my busy schedule and my ambitious nature. So, you see my dilemma?
I have a busy life because there are many things I love to do. I love to do them because they keep my mind active and my creative juices flowing. After weeks of falling more and more behind, though, I finally felt fed up with it enough to make a change. So, yesterday I worked from home and from the very moment I put on my slippers in the morning to the last few minutes of wakefulness in the evening, I was working. Yes, literally all day long. I was more than a little embarrassed to realize that by the time I went to bed last night, I was still in the PJ’s I had woken up in earlier that morning. Ack!! But that’s what it took! I wanted to get all my small projects that had been lingering over my head done and out of the way in order to make room for new and bigger things for the weekend.
Now, my plate is a little less full and I can finally get started on a few ideas that have been waiting in the wings. That’s the thing about big ideas… I feel like I have to clean everything else off my to-do list before I ever get started on them! Well, this weekend, for a change, I’m ready!
How about you? How do you manage your big and small ideas and what will you be doing this weekend?
