Last weekend I attended the first ever Dallas Vintage Clothing and Jewelry Show at the Grapevine Convention Center. (remember THIS post?) For one prone to a short attention span in normal environments, this particular event posed a special challenge… making it through to the end without my mind exploding from vintage overload!!
Needless to say, I made it… barely! There were so many stunning pieces for sale and I discovered loads of new and exciting vendors from Texas and across the country. To summarize, the highlights of the day included…
the most incredible mustard yellow mongolian fur jacket from Vintage Martini (doesn’t this piece look as though it could have glided down the Gucci runway last Fall? and who says vintage can’t be current?)…
…collaged jewelry from Skip 2 My Lou… (her presentation was wonderfully clever and charming! each piece hung on it’s own antique photograph with a short and sweet note penned on the back.)
…button rings from NicSal Jewels… (adorable AND affordable!)
…and vintage beads, parts, and pieces from Sandy Schor & Company. (i found the coolest bug bracelet at this shop but was tempted to take home so much more!!)
My friend Erin scored several vintage gems during our visit! This groovy jumpsuit didn’t make the cut but it was epic none the less!!
I really love the immense variety and often beautiful craftsmanship of vintage pieces. Thrifting, as many of you know, is my routine however, vintage is my splurge! I may not invest in as many pieces as I would while thrifting (there’s a bit of a price difference) but when I do make a decision to purchase, it’s lasting!
The first year of the Dallas Vintage Clothing and Jewelry Show was a great success and if you’re roaming these parts this time next year, I can promise you the invitation will be shared once again!
