Last week was just plain yucky… the weather, my work, our cars. But I made a commitment to put all that behind me on Friday and, wouldn’t you know, things improved dramatically from that point on! (that’s what a positive outlook will get ya’)
Saturday evening I waged against the torrential rains in my once-again reliable Camry to attend rewardStyle‘s mixer for the visiting Blogshop crew (Bri and Angela), Blogshop students, and area rewardStyle bloggers. The party was hosted at an up-and-coming gallery called The Mine, which focuses on young artists and lower price-point pieces. I should have known that the man behind the gallery is Axel Nussbaumer, son of Dallas interior designer and tastemaker, Michelle Nussbaumer. Apparently artistry and entrepreneurial enthusiasm run in the family!
Besides catching up with a few Dallas acquaintances, I also had the pleasure of chatting with Austinite (?) Maggie of Type & Title and fellow Fort Worthian (?) Sam of Style of Sam, two lovely ladies that I look forward to keeping up with on and offline!
Maggie seemed to especially fit the vibe of the gallery… youthful, laid-back, and independently minded. (her new website is in the works… and keep an eye out for her developing freelance graphic design services as well)
As the proverbial “cherry on top” of my weekend, I also celebrated my sixth wedding anniversary with THIS man on Sunday. My, how time flies, both good and bad. But a positive outlook and joyful spirit have gotten us this far in our relationship… can’t wait to see where it takes us next!!
(by the way, still developing the updated version of THIS series. stay tuned for that next week.)
