Continuing with last week’s focus on fashion, today’s Color Study highlights the feminine palette of a favorite blouse from my closet. The colors, although mostly pastel, are slightly muted and a tad earthy. Combined with the antiqued bronze buttons and muddy moss green border, it’s a fantastic color combination for this upcoming Fall. Now, I can already hear your worried questions as you read this… “Pastels in Fall? Isn’t that fashion heresy?”. No, no, no!! It’s perfectly alright. It’s all in how you combine it with other pieces. Contrary to what your grandmother may have told you, pastels can be a beautiful addition to the typical burnt oranges and brick reds that you see around every corner this time of year. Don’t be discouraged, my friends! I love the unexpected touch of pastel in an Autumn or Winter outfit. (point-in-case… THIS stellar J. Crew ensemble)

Oh yes, did I mention this blouse is also available in the Hilary Inspired STOREFRONT?!! Pretty as it may be, it just doesn’t fit me well enough (and fit is SO important). Better to let it be enjoyed by someone else than sit unused in my crowded closet. Enjoy!

And now, my usual round-up of colorful pretties…
