Let’s all take a minute and step back into our childhood memories. Remember what it was like as a kid to go back to school after summer vacation? First, there was the anticipation of seeing all your old friends. Then, the excitement of purchasing new school supplies and clothes. (organizing all of this was one of my favorite parts of preparing for school… i’m such a nerd!). Then, of course, you’d remember that you’d have to start doing homework again (way less fun than hanging out at the pool). It’s a mixed bag for a kid… going back to school. But eventually, you get in the swing of things again and it’s as if you never left.
Never a dull moment.
The new clothes were fun, too. We didn’t purchase a ton growing up but the few new pieces that made it in time for the first day of class felt special enough to make you a whole new person! You know… one of the cool kids!
Yes, yes… the GIVEAWAY!!!
So, my new friends at Shabby Apple have offered to suit up one lucky Hilary Inspired reader with some new “back-to-school” clothing by giving away a $50 gift card to their online store! * A few notes about today’s outfit… I chose an old-fashioned frock from Shabby Apple but needed a few fun styling changes to loosen it’s laces, so to speak. So, I rolled up the sleeves, piled on my collection of brooches and pins (some vintage, some not), and settled in a pair of plaid sneakers that I picked up at Target not long ago. The rolled sleeves gave the look a sort of non-chalance, the unusually large number of pins threw in a bit of quirkiness, and the plaid sneakers dressed it all down a few notches.
Oh yes, and the red handbag! Well, that’s just one of my favorites, so I had to include it.
