Want in on a little secret? As much as I love dressing up, I’m usually dressed down. When you work from home as much as I do, it just makes sense! In fact, I’ll take this reveal even further and show you precisely what has become my everyday “uniform”. And this is the honest truth. You’ll find me hangin’ out at the house and scootin’ around town in this ensemble on most days that I’m not working with designers in Dallas.
Here are the simple ingredients:
- 1 slouchy button-up blouse (preferably in a man’s cut or a couple sizes larger than my own)
- 1 pair of skinny jeans, cuffs rolled
- 2 squeaky clean, go-anywhere sneakers
- 1 cross body purse (essential!)
- and 1 silk head scarf (ok, i may have thrown that one in just for this post… but it’s a good idea!)
There are a couple things I came to realize in the process of preparing this post.
First, I think I’ll trade in my ballet flats for sneakers this season and, second, maybe I’ll actually wear this adorable silk scarf in public more often! At first, it seemed a little much to wear out but now that I’ve seen the photographs, I don’t know what I was thinking! I’ve probably worn much crazier anyways.
But, what do you think… is the silk scarf a do or a don’t? Would you wear one?
And what is your current casual uniform?

Love this look on you, ESPECIALLY the silk head scarf! I’ve recently took to wearing them as well, and I think they are a playful, stylish addition to any “dressed down look”. My personal dress down look consists of skinny jeans, a comfy shirt, loafers, and either a silk scarf or a messy top-knot, gotta keep my hair from getting too crazy and that seems to do the trick!
