You’ll have to forgive my simpleton mutterings for today’s Style Story. I’m feeling a little less than competent when faced with the task of editing my words and photos from Joslyn Taylor‘s home. Truly, there’s so much to love!!
My new friend (it makes me immensely happy to call her that), Joslyn, has curated her family home in Dallas, TX with easy elegance, approachable culture, and undeniable charm. On the first afternoon (yes, it took two attempts to capture all this gorgeousness!) that I visited the Taylor home, a joyous bustling and humming of activity could be heard around the house. Girlish giggling from her daughters Audrey and Millie, a prowling cat, her husband Bryan arriving home, and visiting parents. Somehow, with my clunky camera and awkward photo-taking, I felt right at home amidst it all.
Joslyn is the style editor and new member to the D Home Magazine team, a Dallas based shelter publication with copious industry respect and stunning interiors! (you can find me blogging for them weekly HERE). Beyond her beautifully styled home and impeccable taste, the thing that attracts me to Joslyn the most is her generosity and sincerity, two characteristics I value greatly. Somehow, I feel as though those lovely things are manifest in a physical way through their welcoming home. It’s warm, inviting, comfortable, generous in it’s beauty, and 100% true to the family’s personality and lifestyle.
With the sweet sounds of inquisitive children and trailing tones of Jazz in the background, Joslyn and I sat down for a brief moment to discuss creative outlets, career shifts, and, of course, her gorgeous home. Listen to our conversation here:
*The blog that Joslyn authors and that I reference in our conversation is Simple Lovely and it is exactly that… simple and lovely, an inspiring read!!
Another closing thought that seems especially appropriate when talking about Joslyn and her lifestyle…
“Whenever there is enthusiasm, there is a creative empowerment that goes far beyond what a mere person is capable of.”
- from “A New Earth” by Eckhart Tolle.
Thank you, Joslyn.
Stay tuned for Part 2 on Monday!!
